Thanks for understanding March 27, 2009 Movie News - Emily Blunt to Star Along Side Russell Brand in "Get Him to the Greek"
Emily Blunt has been keeping for herself. She recently played the "Young Victoria", and she will later be seen in this year's "Wolf Man". She is also currently filming "Gulliver's Travels" with Jack Black. Now Moviehole, according to sources during an interview with an Australian radio show, British comedian Russell Brand told them that Blunt was already cast to co-star with him in "Get Him to the Greek" with Jonah Hill.
"Get Him to the Greek" could be called a sequel of sorts to the 2008 comedy, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". Although the entire cast is not returning Brand will return to his role of Aldous Snow, while Jonah Hill will return as well. Greek will show Snow return to his his druggie addictions. Hill will play a young insurance adjuster who has been given the seemingly impossible task of getting the out of control celeb to a gig at L.A's Greek Theater.
Brand has appeared in serveral movies in the United States recently, but he is still not a household name. He appeared in the two 2008 comedies, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", and "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandler. He even had a small role in the 2006 "Penelope", but either way he is still relativly un known in certain circles. If "Greek" is done right, it could help catipult Brand to a higher status. Although we haven't seen or heard to miuch about this film, it looks as though it could turn out well. "Get Him to the Greek is scheduled for release in 2010. Duplicity was expected to better than it did, it is director/writer Tony Gilroy's second movie that he has directed, the fist being Michael Clayton. Knowing did better than expected from Summit Entertainment, the studio behind Twilight. I Love You Man performed to expectations, really no more, no less for this one.
March 21, 2009 Movie News: Drirector Christopher Nolan's ("The Dark Knight") Brother Wanted for Crimes Including Murder.
Here's a quick bit of information that is related movie news. Some news outlets are reporting that "The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan's brother is wanted for crimes that include murder. The right is a supposed picutre of Matthew Francis Nolan
The brother Matthew Francis Nolan is under investigation by The Chicago Police. Nolan is wanted in Costa Rica for the kidnapping and murder of Florida businessman Robert C. Cohen. Authorities said Nolan pretended he was interested in doing business in Costa Rica when the two met in a hotel. But his real mission was to recover sseven million Cohen owed another Florida man.
South America. But his real mission, authorities say, was to get seven million that Cohen owed another man in Florida.
Douglas Mejia, Nolan's supposed accomplice, has already been convicted of kidnapping Cohen when he attempted to extort the money from Cohen's family. When that failed, cops say that they both killed him.
Nolan has been under investigation by the FBI regarding a seperate $700,000 bank-fraud scheme. He's now being held in the U.S., awaiting extradition. Christopher Nolan collaborated with his other brother, Jonathan, on the scripts for Memento, The Prestige, and The Dark Knight, and the upcoming Terminator: Salvation. Since he is related to the very famous Christopher Nolan, we thought we'd go ahead and post this here on our movie news page. These really are some very serious charges Nolan has againist him. We will have to see where this goes. March 19, 2009 Movie News: Portman and Pitt Cast to Star in a Movie with an Incredibly Long Name . This movie news comes as Variety reports that Natalie Portman and Brad Pitt (neither of which need my introduction) are cast to star in the adaptation of Leanne Shapton's book(with a long name, to long to post as my title), "Important Artifacts and Personal Property From the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion and Jewelry. Not only will the movie star the very talented Pitt and Portman(or P&P), but both their production companies will produce. Handsome-Charlie Films and Plan B will produce.
As said before the movie will be based on the book. The book follows the four year affair between a 20 year one food columnist for The New York Times (obviously Portman), and a 40 something photographer (Pitt). It is told by way of an epic estate auction catalog chronicling their romantic affair rise and fall. The lots range from confetti-packed envelopes from her, and mix tapes from him, antiques, clothing and much more.
This movie looks as though it could turn out to be something special. Pitt and Portman have both been doing some interesting work lately. Pitt is just reeling from his Academy Award nominated turn as Benjamin Button in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", and there is a building hype for "Inglorious Bastards" due later this year. Portman who just had a turn as director and actress in "New York, I Love You", and played Anne Boleyn in the period drama "The Other Boleyn Girl". This is off the subject of movie news, but I thought she was great in the SNL Rapper Skit (by the she really did go to Harvard). Natasha Richardson was pronounced dead today having succumbed to her head injuries. She was taken off life support at a New York hospital. She was 45. The injuries were due to a fall while taking a skiing lesson, she was then taken to a hospital in Montreal and later on Tuesday, she was flown to a New York hospital.
"A small private funeral" is planned, according to friends who spoke earlier to E! News on behalf of the family. Richarson was the wife of Liam Neeson and daughter of Oscar winners Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richardson . When flown to New York from Montreal Richardson, was accompanied by husband Neeson. Apon arrival in New York she was admitted to Manhattan's Lenox Hill Hospital, where she was later pronounced brain dead on and ultimately dead on Wednesday, March 18th 2009, "Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the turns of events.
Richardson was an English actress who also appeared in American films. She won two "Evening Standard British Film Awards" for Best Actress for: Asylum (2005) , and Best Actress for: The Comfort of Strangers (1990). She has recently been seen in "Maid in Manhattan" (2002) and "Evening" (2007), though you might remember her from "The Parent Trap" (1999).

Liz Smith (well known 86 yr. old writer) is reporting that Natasha Richardson has been taken off life support. She writes, "Everybody in the family - Liam, the two boys, Vanessa, Lynn Redgrave, Joely Richardson - have all been in the hospital with Natasha, and word is in at 1:30 PM WEDNESDAY they have taken Natasha off of life support. This is not unexpected." "Word is in at 1:30 pm Wednesday they have taken Natasha off of life support. This is not unexpected.
"Insiders felt yesterday, on learning they were flying Natasha in to Lenox Hill, that this meant her condition was hopeless and they (family members) were just finding a place to be together with her and to say good-bye.
"As one insider remarked: 'Nobody goes to Lenox Hill who is really sick; if she’d had a chance to live, they’d have found another great brain hospital!'"
Smith ends the article saying, "This is all just utterly horrible to write!"

Reports and details concerning Natasha Richardson have just come in. It is said that Richardson's family has started to gather at a New York City hospital that is believed to be treating the actress for her head injury that is becoming more serious after an accident on a Quebec ski slope. 
Richardson's condition is very serious and her family is very concerned and worried, two people close to the family told the New York Times. "There is no chance. It is a fact that her heart is beating but she is brain dead," a family friend told PEOPLE on Tuesday night.She was spotted with the her husband Liam Neeson, crouched inside the back of an ambulance at Montreal's Sacre-Coeur hospital Richardson, wrapped in blankets and with tubes covering her face, put inside. TMZ was told that during Richardson's ambulance ride to New York's Lenox Hill Hospital, she was "unconscious," her pupils "non-reactive," and she was suffering from "major head trauma."
Mont Tremblant's spokeswoman, Catherine Lacasse originally said: "There were no signs of impact and no blood, nothing,".
At this point there is still no confirmed information from the one who maatter (the family), we must wait for soild information that is confirmed until we can know for sure. March 17, 2009 BREAKING NEWS: Natasha Richardson Rushed to Hospital for Brain Swelling.
Reports have come stating that English actress "Natasha Richardson" had been rushed to the hospital following a skiing accident on Quebec's Mont Tremblant. Initial reports indicated that she was suffering from brain damage, but TMZ has claimed that the hospital said she is suffering from "brain swelling".
Details continue to emerge by the hour, false or true, no one can tell right now. We must wait for the offical statement. We do know she is being transported back to the U.S. for treatment.
Richardson is married to "Liam Neeson" (Taken), and is daughter to Oscar winner "Vanessa Redgrave". Richardson has been seen recently in the movie "Maid in Manhattan", and "The Evening". Many might remember her from "The Parent Trap" as the mother. It is reported that Liam Neeson rushed from the set of his newest movie to be at her side.

March 17, 2009 Movie News: "The Wild Geese" to be Remade by Guy Ritchie . Guy Ritchie seems to be doing well for himself. He has been chosen to direct the remake of the 1978 "The Wild Geese." His current project, which has just completed filming is due for release at the end of this year. The movie is Sherlock Holmes which stars Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson. "Rachel McAdams" stars as the film's love intrest. 
This movie is quite a departure from the likes of his previous films which most notably include Lock, "Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", "Snatch" and most recently "RocknRolla".Ritchie has agreed to direct the remake of The Wild Geese, about a group of mercenaries in Africa, it is said to feature a variety of Hollywood A-list stars, according to the Daily Telegraph. A source has been quoted, "It will be Guy's biggest film to date with a budget that will buy him some real star names. He is on a roll after completing Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. and is thrilled about this." I honestly wonder who it was that said that, I mean does he really not think Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are "real star names"? . March 17, 2009 Movie News: "Star Trek" Director J.J. Abrams Grabs Rights to "The Untold Story of the World's Biggest Diamond Heist".
Good news today in the Movie News World. J.J. Abrams director of the upcoming "Satr Trek" movie has purchased the rights to "The Untold Story of the World's Biggest Diamond Heist" . The article tells the incredible true story of a huge diamond heist in Antwerp, Belgium. The hieves managed to get through 10 layers of security to get away with an estimated $100 million in precious metals, and stones. While he was reserching the topic, Davis was able to speak with the leader of the heist. Word is that he got him to tell him how they pulled it off.
Not sure about you guys, but this project looks to be very promising. Almost anything "J.J. Abrams" has been involed in as of late has had a innovative syle about it. Abrams involment will be as a producer or director, but if he is invovled, We're Interested. March 16, 2009 Movie News: "Transformers" 3 Announced - Already has a Release Date. Some unsurprising movie news has been aanounced, but it's movie news none the less, so we'll go ahead and post it. Still three months before "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen." even hits theaters, Paramount along with Deamworks announced that a third "Transformers" movie is in the works. Not only that but according to Variety it has an expected release date of July 1, 2011.
It also had a $150 mil. budget, which is considered to be modest for a Blockbuster of it's magnitude. There is little other solid information that comes with the news release though. No news whether Shia LaBeouf, and Megan Fox would reprise their roles. It would be a complete guessing game to figure whether or not Michael Bay would return to the director's chair for a third "Transformers", especially considering he did not agree to direct a third "Bad Boys". Although large figures of money seem to have way of influencing certain directors. One thing is for sure... A extra strong showing of "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen." at the box office would basically guarantee a third "Transformers". Likewise it would do the opposite if it performed horribly. but the only way I see that happening is if say...Decepticons led by Megatron invade earth.
March 16, 2009 Movie News: New Line Taking "MacGyver" to the Big Screen.
This movie news comes as The Hollwood Reporter reports that New Line Cinemas will be taking the past long running "MacGyer" to the big screen. There is no director or starring roles (or any roles for that matter) cast. The only names offically attached to the movie is Raffaella De Laurentiis (daughter of Dino De Laurentiis) she will be producing the movie through her Raffaella Productions company. Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff will also be producing.
New Line's Richard Brener (who will oversee the project algong with Sam Brown and Walter Hamada) was quoted. "We think we're a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise," 
News is that it will be a big-budget action movie. The orginal "Mcgyver" televison series ran from 1985-1992 for 7 seasons. The original star of the show Richard Dean Anderson, who is now almost 60 years old, is obviously to old to reprise his charater. So will fans of the original series return to see it in movie theaters, without their beloved Anderson? Sould we "Always prepared for adventure"(one of the series taglines). It was reported this evening that actor Ron Silver died in his sleep early Sunday morning. He was 62 years old. It was known that he had been battling esophageal cancer for 2 years.
Silver was mainly known for his involvement on television, most notably for "Veronica's Closet", "The West Wing", and "Billionaire Boys Club". The was nominated twice for a Emmy award for "The West Wing", and "Billionaire Boys Club" respectfully.
Ron Silver, rest in peace, we give you praise for your 35 years in television and movie entertainment.
Movie News: Matt Damon Confirms Involvement in Fourth Bourne Installment Actor and Oscar winning screen-writer Matt Damon recently confirmed his involvement on developing a script with director Paul Greengrass (director of the second and third Bourne movies). This is great news fro those who are eager to see Jason Bourne again on screen, but this still has a long way to go before it is a sure thing. Both are currently heavily involved with other projects.
This movie news came when Damon was quoted by Parade magazine, saying, ."We're working on it. This time it would be from an original script rather than a book by Robert Ludlum, but the director Paul Greengrass is busy and I am too, so we'll see what happens.
"When I did the first movie I was 29 years old. I am 37 now. After a tough fighting scene, the next day you wake up and feel your body more. That's just the way it is."
This is one bit of movie news I think we all (or at least most)would like to see come to past. The three Bourne movies were excellent and the second and third were truly top notch. We'll see what happens... Movie News: Keira Knightly says no to Pirates 4 (unoffically that is) Reports have been coming in indicting that Keira Knightly has directly eluded to the fact that she has no intentions of returning to her role as Elizabeth Swan in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.
This movie news comes as she was quoted in an interview with Moviefone "It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don't think I need to go there again. I think that it's done. But I'm very excited to see the next one."
Now this might come as a surprise to some, considering this is the franchise is what made her name known around the world. If a fourth "Pirates" movie is indeed made, fans will surely disappointed to know she will not return.
It is no secret that she has been trying to turn her career choices to that of a more serious and dramatic nature. This can be seen already with her most recent and much Oscar nominated turn as Cecilia Tallis in "Atonement, 2007" and the upcoming "Sea of Love, 2009" . Could this annoucement be a move to convince Studio boses that her is the right choice to Audrey Hepburn's timeless and unforgettable Eliza Doolittle character in the upcoming "My Fair Lady" remake. Initial reports had indicated that Knightly had already chosen for the part, but recently, she has been quoted by Moviefone "I auditioned for it about two years ago, and I think it's been a matter of trying to assemble the correct team to do it that is going to make as interesting a movie and as good a movie as possible. There are good whispers going around, you know, and hopefully they'll come to fruition.".. She insists she has not yet received conformation that she has been cast.
So we can do is hope that Johnny Depp's "Jack Sparrow" is enough to hold Pirates 4 together (if it happens), even without the lovely Elizabeth Swan.
